The Millennial Liberal

About

Average millennial-next-door

I’m Leslie and I’m the creator / editor-in-chief of The Millennial Liberal. Prior to launching this website, I spent 3.5 years working in global development as a strategy and evaluation consultant across the US, UK, China, and Kenya. Outside the realm of my academic training in the liberal arts, I have a smattering of expertise in low-carbon urbanization, ed-tech, digital financial inclusion, carbon markets, and long-acting reversible contraceptives.

My approach to developing solutions to improve lives and long-term outcomes is grounded in heterodox economics principles and intersectionality. Currently, I’m exploring ways to dismantle institutional barriers to economic justice through green urban design, grassroots organizing, and policy and advocacy. I hold 2 degrees (in history) and believe we can limit global warming to well below 2 degrees (in Celsius).

When I’m not living out of my suitcase, I reside in the suburbs of Los Angeles.

I’m always looking for feedback on my work. Call out typos, say hi, or request to collaborate at themillennialliberal [at] gmail.com. Thanks so much for reading!

Hi there!

I believe books are magic, capitalism is in desperate need of an overhaul, and humans are inherently good.

I write about stuff in support of those guiding principles, including, but not limited to: politics, philosophy, love, loss, navigating life confusingly torn between nihilism and optimism. The usual.
